Today, let's have a look to a very useful service for both designers and entrepreneurs looking to get a logo for their business. LogoMyWay is a website that aims to connect logo designers with small businesses.

Having a logo is a essential part of company branding. A logo is important because it allow people to memorize your company. Just think a second about some very well known brands a such as Apple or McDonald’s : When you see the logo, you instantanely think about the product. This is why you should definitely create a strong identity for your company.

But, how to get a logo when you’re not a designer yourself? Of course, you can hire a designer to get your logo. Or you can use a very cool service named LogoMyWay.

What is exactly LogoMyWay? It is a logo design competition service which allow you to get lots of logo proposals (70 – 400+) from dozens of designers worldwide. You pay once (prices starts at $200) and you choose the logo you want to use. That’s simple as that.

Among other features, LogoMyWay offers a garanteed minimum of 40 differents designs, or you’ll have your money back. 40 different logo designs are a lot to choose from, so it’s a sure thing that you’ll find the logo of your dreams.
Another thing I love with LogoMyWay is that creating a contest is quick and easy. As an online entrepreneur, I hate wasting my time and I’m happy that LogoMyWay understands it.

Let’s see some example of what you can expect with LogoMyWay. The first is a logo design competition organized for Boser Chinese, a Chinese Restaurant:

The second example is Frietkot, a restaurant specialized in Belgian Fries (yummy!):

Amazing, isn’t it? Having the choice between all those designs is definitely a great deal for businesses.

As PSDVIBE readers, it is obvious that most of you are designers. If you’re a young designer looking to get exposure and make money, LogoMyWay can be something to consider. Contests starts at $200, but some can go up to $1000, which is definitely a good deal. Joining LogoMyWay as a designer is 100% free and they pay within 48 hours.

Although established designers can be really happy with LogoMyWay, contests seems to be more interesting if you’re a young designer looking to build a portfolio and gain exposure.

The last thing to consider is the inspiration you can get by watching thousands of logos you’ll find on LogoMyWay. Whatever you’re a logo designer or just a designer who wants to learn, it is a sure thing that the best way to learn is to watch and study what others do.

And you, what do you think about LogoMyWay? Have you already used their services, as a business owner or a designer? Let me know in a comment.

Hello everyone! I'm the new owner of PsdVibe since May 30, 2009. Before going into new tutorials and useful resources for Photoshop, let me introduce myself.

Who am I ?

My name is Jean-Baptiste Jung, but most people call me Jean. I’m 27 years old and I was born in Paris, France. I now live in southern Belgium with my wife and my cat.

I blog since 2007 about various subject as such as Web development, WordPress, Web design. Apart from PsdVibe, I have a few websites, the most known are Cats Who Code and WpRecipes.
I have provided articles for several popular blogs, as such as Smashing Magazine and I’m currently finnishing a tech book about WordPress.

Besides blogging/webdesign/webdevelopment things, I like to travel, having relaxing times with my wife and I love animals. Animal rights is a cause I’m involved.

The future of PsdVibe

I know that sometimes, when a blog or website is sold by its founder, the new owner don’t always care about the blog and the readers, and only want to make some quick money.
To answer a question that many of you shall ask, yes, I’m hoping to make money with Psdvibe, but no, I will definitely not drown the tutorials into crappy Adsense ads without never providing new content.
My goal is to take Psdvibe to a higher level. I’ll continue to provide useful tutorials, resources, and freebies.

Some new things

As a new owner, I don’t want to make big changes to Psdvibe. Anyways, the blog is just great how is it now. Thought, please note the following changes:
1 – Comments are now dofollow, so don’t hesitate to discuss. Don’t spam, though.
2 – A commercial/public use licence for the PSD will be available within a few days (Don’t worry, PSD will still be downloadables for free!)

Well, that’s all for today, so, see you tomorrow for a complete Website layout tutorial!

It has been one of the most requested items by you in the comments, and from your emails, so we are going to make it happen. About time right? I wanted to go ahead and bring someone onto the team who could bring some quality content. Who better than the person who coded the current psdvibe theme.

Who it is

The man for the job is Saad Sarfraz. I myself, have never enjoyed coding. If IE6 wasn’t around, that might actually be different. So when I need things coded, I always hate having to find someone that can code a website to great standards, without skipping over the little things. I found Saad on Elance back when I first opened up psdvibe and he proved to be a great person for the job. He has always been easy to work with, and can get things done very quickly. When I approached him to see if he would be up for the task of doing the psd to xhtml tutorials for the site, he accepted and I’ve been excited to see what he can bring to the table.

When will they arrive

The first psd to xhtml tutorials will start showing up at the beginning of next month, and will be posted at about the same rate as the Photoshop tutorials. We probably won’t get tutorials on coding all of the previous layouts, but we will be working on getting the most popular ones done first. The Corporate WordPress Style layout will be the first, and then we will move on from there.

The Future of the Vibe

So far everything has been going great. I try to get at least one tutorial a week, but it has been hard this month to keep up with that pace, but should be getting back on track. Each week we have attracted more and more users, and we encourage people to comment on the tutorials and let us know what they think. I created this site to help the community out, so if i’m not doing a good job, i’d like to know so I can work on doing a better job for you.

The Advertisers

Just wanted to thank those who advertise on psdvibe. With advertisers, it provides more money for me to put back into the site and to boost the quality of the content. I do not make a cent off of the site as of yet, and I really don’t plan to. Every cent I make I put back into making the site better, and hopefully will be able to expand and add more writers from it.

The Next Tutorial

Thought I would go ahead and give you a sneak peek of what the next tutorial will be on. Hopefully will have it written up for you by the end of the weekend.

Comments?

Be sure to let me know what you think, and if you have any ideas of anything else you would like to see added to the vibe.

Welcome to the brand new psdvibe design. I have gone ahead and done a major overhaul of the old design to make it more appealing and cleaner. It will still be a little buggy as we work out all the little kinks.

Hopefully you liked the old theme, but I felt it was lacking something. So i decided to start from scratch and create a new image for psdvibe.

I have fixed most the bugs in the last few hours, so everything should be up and running normally at this point. The Most Popular Posts area in the sidebar is going to be set up a little differently, so try not to criticize me on that just yet Also, at this point I have no added in the links for the social area at the bottom of each post.

If you have any comments on the changes, or would like to point out a error, please share them with me in the comments.

Here at PSDVIBE we thought there were a few things that needed tweaking to the layout and I wanted to go ahead and release those to you today.

Welcome to the updated psdvibe. As you can see there are a few changes that have been made to the previous layout. one major change is that I wanted to go ahead and get rid of the rounded edges, and loose the star-burst effect in the header, and have added a couple links for those of you that wish to help write or request a tutorial. It also makes viewing the site in higher resolutions much better as the theme also is center aligned now (finally).

Another change you will note is the sidebar. Previously each section of the sidebar had its own rounded box to contain the information. Now the background is fluid from one box to the next to the bottom of the page.

As far as the comments are concerned, they were poorly laid out originally. We have revamped that and made them much easier on the eyes and allows users to quickly find their comment and view others. There are other little things around that have been changed, but I have outlined the majority of the changes.

This is what the old version of the site looked like

If you have questions, comments, or would like to report and error on the changes, please share them with us in the comments.

I realize there are a few bugs here and there with the site and wanted to go ahead and share with you what I plan on doing to fix them. Also, you may get something for reading this if you look closely.

This week we added our first batch of tutorials, and I feel we are off to a great start. But with all upcoming websites, there are those nasty little bugs that need working out. I wanted to go ahead and mention a few that I have noticed, but would also like anyone to tell me others that they have seen and I will get working on fixing them.

Comments

Yes, they look like crap. Sometimes the names are aligned left, and sometimes they are centered. I am unsure of why that is happening right now, but will be fixing that issue. The initial problem was, when I designed the template I forgot all together to make room for a users name and date it was posted. It just had the user icon and the message (doh!). But hopefully here in the next week we will have al of this worked out.

IE

I bet your expecting me to list our a page full of bugs on IE, but your wrong. There really aren’t too many (from what I can see). The only major thing is how the ‘pages’ are set up. When I say ‘pages’, I am refering to the ‘about’ and ‘contact’ page. The sidebar slides down under the content to the left. I will have that issue fixed out in no time.

Thanks for Reading

Remember, if you notice any bugs that I have not mentioned here, please tell me in the comments so I can fix them promptly.

Welcome to the all new PSDVIBE.com. For a little introduction, my name is Matthew Heidenreich and I create Photoshop tutorials for fun. I enjoy providing beginners and users with more experience, the knowledge that I possess to make them a better and more rounded designer.

With all the repition of the same old tutorials, we wanted to provide users with a resource to find unique and new ideas through learning. At PSDVIBE we want to be precise with our tutorials, so if we believe we cannot explain what we are creating in detail, we will not bother posting the tutorial like many websites do.

With many tutorial websites, they focus only on pageviews. We want to provide quality over quantity and if that provides more pageviews, thats just a plus. As always if you have a certain technique you’ve seen and would like to learn it, please visit our contact page, and there’s a good change we will turn it into a tutorial.

For a little background on myself, I’ve written many tutorials in the past on various sites. My most recent tutorials were written for idotutorials.com. I wanted to go ahead and break off from that site and create a site i can dedicate all my time and effort into, and hopefully provide great content in the end.
